I now understand why some of the best writers were alcoholics, coke heads, or always on the verge of suicide. It's only my 3rd week and I already have a case of writers block!! Ridiculous. There are a variety of topics that I could discuss. I could talk about this Kony 2012 viral video spreading all over, doing an excellent job of brainwashing folks who are too lazy to learn about important social issues on their own. Or I could talk politics and discuss the brainwashing that goes on and how, in reality, neither political party has your best interest in mind. Depressing, isn't it? Or I could talk about Peyton Manning and how loyalty means absolutely nothing when it comes to business and money.
But I think I will keep it short and simple and discuss something I think will actually help you instead of worry you. It's what I call the 3 C's of Life. I feel like if a man or woman has the 3 C's, life is a lot less stressful and a lot more fun. The 3 C's are confidence, character, and charisma. Confidence speaks for itself. As I stated in my last blog, it separates people who are successful from people who aren't. You know a confident person when you meet them. They don't even have to say a word. It's exuded through dress, mannerisms, walk, etc. Confidence alone can get you through a lot of rough times. But just because someone has great confidence doesn't mean they are a person of great character. A man or woman of great character understands what it means to have moral quality. They understand what is right and, despite the ignorance of the world we live in today, will not compromise their ethics to fit in. It makes me throw up to say this, but Tim Tebow (Barf!) is a guy who shows great character. As a young guy in his 20's, it would be easy for him to go against his beliefs, have a coke party with midget strippers and a goat, chalk it up to young age, be forgiven and move on. But he has stuck to his guns in the face of hatred and is the definition of a true role model, despite the number of God loves Tebow jokes I have told my sister over the past 3-4 years. The guy has character, enough said. Finally, there is the 3rd C: Charisma!! Personality!! A unmatched charm and appeal which is unique because only you have it!! It's the ability to sway opinion, give confidence to someone who needs it, and make people feel comfortable around you without knowing you. It's when you give off the kind of energy that others want to emulate (and may try to steal, which is ok because they probably need it). Charisma, like confidence and character, is something you know when you see it. That's why, in my opinion, these 3 C's go perfectly hand in hand.
Now, as the reader, you may ask, "Ok, Mental Midget. Do you feel like you have all 3 C's?" My answer is that I'm good for about 65% of the 3 C's. But I'm a work in progress and I know that life is marathon, and not a sprint!!!
