Happy Post St. Patrick's Day!!! To my Irish homies, "Top of the Morning to Ya" (although for most of you it should be "Top of the Evening" as you recover from your hangover)! To all my BLIrishman (Black and Irish homies: All 2 of ya), Shamrock, Shenanigans and Snapbacks!! I am going to try to keep this week's blog short and sweet. At the beginning of every year, we all have our New Years' Resolutions, which basically become promises to ourselves that we do not keep. These days, I live by the expression, "A promise is a comfort to a fool!" In my opinion, goals, where your desired results are written down on paper and displayed as a constant reminder of where you need to go, work much better. If you have to look at your goals everyday (and even recite the words you place on that paper), there is not only a bigger sense of accountability, but also it gives you a true aim to work backwards from. A friend of mine had a dream to become a nurse. So every morning, she would say out loud, "I WILL BE A NURSE!" (Kind of annoying at 5:30 in the morning after a night of drinks and unmentionables...). But she worked at it and she fulfilled her dream all by herself.
Now, for a second, put yourself in her shoes and imagine you gave yourself a real goal. Not an empty promise; I am talking about a goal, written out, with a time frame of, let's say, one year from today!!! Do you think you can reach it? Do you think you would be up for a life changing experience? What would be your motivation? How would you reach your goal? A lot of things to think about, right? Well, that is why this blog is named "The Challenge!" I challenge you to come up with a legitimate goal for yourself. It doesn't have to be huge. Just a little something that you think you can accomplish within a year. Don't make it too easy, like showering once a day for a year (For some of you, that is an achievement!). At the same time, don't get too ridiculous with it either! Should you choose to take me up on the challenge, I only have two rules for you. 1). It must be written out on a sheet of paper and 2.) Every morning, you must state your goal out loud, that way, you will not forget what you are going after!! Now if you take me up on it, Awesome!! If not, my feelings won't be hurt 0___0,<--- (That is my Sad Face with a tear!!)! Once a month I will post little reminders and maybe even some positive motivation to keep you going! I've got my goal ready as well. So Happy Hunting folks!!
4th Blog Done!! If you take the challenge, hit me up either on www.twitter.com/thefakejcoston or www.facebook.com and let me know about your goals and progress (it will be our secret!!).
