Change?

I have come to the conclusion that "Change" is the most overrated word in the dictionary.  You may say "Oh wise, handsome, stunningly dapper one ( you may not have said it. But that's EXACTLY what you were thinking), why would you say that? I say that because, about 95% of the time, the only thing that comes with talking about change.... is a whole lot more talking about change.  Its like people know exactly what they have to do to make their dreams come true but are unwilling to make it happen.  There could be many reasons for this (fear of success, lack of desire to commit, smelly armpits, etc.). Whatever it is, people allow it to stifle their growth.  But there is a word that used less often than change.  It is a word, though, that actually goes hand in hand with change but NEVER gets put into the same sentence with it.  That word is WORK.  How can a person make any real change without the willingness to put in WORK to achieve their goals?  How can a person have a successful relationship without putting WORK in? How can a student achieve honor roll status without putting in WORK for it? How can you do anything in this life without WORK? And no, I will not stop capitalizing the word WORK for this entire blog.  I want all of the "We want change" people to understand that they need to change the language up just a little bit.  Instead of saying "I'm going to make a change," start saying, "I'm going to WORK!" If you say that you are going to WORK, I will take your effort more serious because 1). WORK requires you to be quiet, put your head down and handle your business, 2.) WORK requires actual effort and a burning desire to achieve your goals and 3.) WORK will lead to change in one way or another.  Its simple mathematics: Change minus the WORK required to make it happen is just a wish.  I am still waiting to find a magic lamp that I can rub for a genie to appear and grant my three wishes (and after I receive my billion dollars and 500 stripper wives on unicorns, I may wish for world peace!). Until that day comes, I will just continue to put in the WORK required to achieve greatness!!!
By the way, I apologize to Ms. Jackson, my information systems professor, as this blog was typed during her class time.

Also, this Blog was inspired by Loaded Lux! Don't know who he is, Google him!!!

Acceptance!!!

Happy Labor Day Weekend everybody!!! Now remember all the techniques you learned in Lamaze class, make sure you breath slowly, and that baby will...... Oh my bad, not THAT kind of labor! Ha!! That's a joke I have been waiting to tell forever. (My blog, my rules).
Anyway, I will make this blog short and sweet.  This one is about acceptance.  This is a tough topic for a lot of people because most of us don't want to accept the fact that we are who we are.  Some guys want to be thugs when they are as soft as a handful of feathers.  Some women want to be players but can't handle the heartache that comes with it.  What folks don't realize is that, once you finally accept who you are, your life starts moving in the direction that you want.  Subconsciously, we worry too much about what people think of us and we do too much to gain the love and admiration of everyone around us.  I say F#$%* that!! Gain the love and admiration of yourself first and, if people love you, so be it.  If they hate you, so what!?!  I have a lot of experience on this topic because it took me a long time to accept the person that I am.  I never saw myself as a guy who finds accounting fascinating (Don't judge me!! Ha!!), likes reading and problem solving and has a bigger interest in wrestling than a grown man should.  But this is me so deal with it!! Now it took adversity to get to this level of comfortable, but it doesn't matter how you get there.  It just matters that you get there.
I guess another reason why I am writing this is because this is the only way I can communicate this message to one of my closest friends.  I'm not going to mention any names but, if the person reads this blog, they will know that its about them.  I have tried talking to them about it.  But the person is a know-it-all who has an answer for everything. This person is the epitome what I'm talking about.  They go to church on Sundays but then talk about pimping females for money.  They want to be a big time player but, because they don't have a job, a car, or any money, they have to rely on others to get around and get emotional when their women get snatched away (if you lack the basics like money and transportation, that is what happens).  They are presented numerous opportunities to make good money to start progressing in life (jobs in real estate, stock market, etc.).  But because there is work involved and the jobs aren't the kind that put you in the spotlight (like entertainment or sports), they feel like these jobs are "beneath" them.  Its not a problem with intelligence.  My crew says its a lack of ambition and drive.  I say its a lack of accepting who they really are.  I believe once this person finally understands their role in life and stops trying to be someone they aren't, life will become a lot easier and they will excel and become the leader they are meant to be.  If this post means that someone will be mad at me, it is OK because it comes from someone who cares about them and wants to see them do well.  Sometimes tough love is the best love.
Sorry, blog readers!! But this was something I had to get off my chest!! The fun, games and positivity will resume next blog!!!
