The Mirror

Finally, schools is over for the semester (3.5 GPA!! Woot!) and I finally have some free time to provide you with a blog that I know you need in your life!! This one will be short. This morning, after I received my final grade for the semester, I did what I normally do at the end of each semester. I took a look in the mirror. Now, I don't do the "Good Morn...Damn! I need to wipe the crust out my eye and froth on my mouth" look, nor the "I look so good I could kiss myself and then actually start kissing the mirror" look. I take a look to go deeper than just the absolutely handsome sight in front of me :) I look to see if I am where I need to be physically, spiritually and emotionally. The reflection in the mirror will provide me with a starting point of changes that I need to make in the coming days, weeks, and months. From what I see, I start writing new goals and expectations. My ambition and focus becomes renewed. Its basically me resetting myself and getting ready for the next challenge. The mirror will also show if I can continue letting my hair grow or if it looks like a pack of wild skunks are have a meeting on my head (Kidding...not really). The mirror tells us a lot about ourselves, both on the outside and the inside. On the outside, it tells us if we are attractive. (which I am dammit!!) It tells us if we could stand to lose a few lbs. It reflects our smiles, frowns, cries, everything. It doesn't lie to us, no matter how much at times we wish it did (unless you travel with the circus and you have a trick mirror, in which it may give you a beard. Sorry, ladies). If you look at it long enough, it will allow you to look deep within. It will help you answer certain questions about yourself that you have been afraid to ask like, "Am I where I want to be in life?" "Am I happy with all aspects of my life?" "Will cherry cheesecake give me gas?" Ok maybe not the last one! But that long look in the mirror can give you answers to questions you need to have answered. On most days, we used the mirror for vanity purposes, checking how we look for work or whatever social function we have planned for that day. I would challenge you to take that long look. Go deep within and see if some issues that you have kept hidden start to pop up. Don't be afraid to become emotional. It might be a good thing because it may spark action to situations with which you have been procrastinating. You may get frustrated, depressed, or you may just be happy with what you see. All I would ask is that you take a look for a minute and see what happens. Not as quick as I thought. Its all good though!! On another quick note, say a prayer for the kids in CT!! This world is getting crazier by the day!! www.facebook.com www.massiveinternetradio.com www.twitter.com/thefakejcoston
